Fulfilling Holds/Reservations in Koha

●      In Koha, reservations and requests are known as Holds

●      All holds are visible on the Holds to Pull list for the first 7 days until they are fulfilled.

●      If after 7 days the item is not fulfilled then it will move to the Holds Queue list where it will remain until a library is able to supply the hold.

●      Koha prioritises holds placement to available items - in practice this will mean that if the next available item is at another consortium library, then the Holds to pull list will place a hold against their copy, even if you have a copy in your collection but your copy is on loan.

●      Koha displays all hold, so local holds and other consortium member holds are listed together.

●      If an item is held at multiple branches, then those branches where the item is available will be listed in the holds to pull list.

The following procedure should be carried out as a daily procedure by all libraries to ensure the smooth operation of the holds system.
