Quick Guide for Students: How to Access Blackboard at NJCU

Please review these easy steps on how to access your Blackboard courses at NJCU!

Visit the NJCU homepage at http://www.njcu.edu

  1. 1. In the middle of the screen, you should see a link for Blackboard. Click on Blackboard

  2. 2. This should take you to the Blackboard login page that looks like this. Click on the Login with GothicNet ID button

    HINT! You can also bookmark the Blackboard login page in your Web browser. The Web address is http://blackboard.njcu.edu

  3. 3. Type in your NJCU Student ID Number. It should be a 7-digit number.

    NOTE! DO NOT type in your NJCU email address as your user name for Blackboard. Your user name should be your NJCU Student ID number.

  6. 6. Upon successful login, your Blackboard landing page (also called the Institution Page) may look something like this.

  7. 7. Next, click on Courses to find your NJCU courses.

    This is the Tile view. Feel free to change your view to the List view based on your preference by clicking here:

  9. 9. You may also filter your courses by Term by selecting the Term drop-down menu.

  10. 10. Once you see your course, just click on the course title to open your course.

    NOTE: If the course is Closed, wait until the first day of class to access it unless your professor has stated otherwise. If it is still closed, please email helpdesk@njcu.edu and we can reach out to your professor.
