Created Sep 27, 2022Testing the version-test of your bubble app
Applicable to all customers who have received a BDK build since Jan 2021
Create a New Dynamic Link
All the other setup, including URL prefix registration is already done by us for you at the time of processing the build 😃

Give the name to the dynamic link
This becomes part of the visible dynamic link url that you use to test or share with others.
In this example, we have named it 'testversion'. You can name it anything of your choice.

Enter 'Deeplink url', i.e. the link you want the app to open
When a user taps on the dynamic link created in previous step in any platform (in email, notes, sms, facebook, whatsapp etc.), your native app launches and opens this Deeplink url as the starting page
If your native app is not already installed, it takes the user to your Appstore or Playstore page to first install the native app
You can also give a name to the dynamic link to make it easy to identify for yourself
In the example screenshot we have given the link to the 'native' page on the 'version-test' branch of bdk native bubble app. You should give the link to the page you want to test for your app.

Select the iOS App as option in link behaviour for Apple
Note: Ignore this step if you have not purchased an iOS build from us
You don't need to do any setup. Setup of the apple app option is already done by us for you at the time of processing the build 😃

Select the Android App as option in link behaviour for Android
Note: Ignore this step if you have not purchased an Android build from us
You don't need to do any setup. Setup of the Android app option is already done by us for you at the time of processing the build 😃

Click Create to create the dynamic link
Note:
The section for campaign tracking, social tags etc. is optional.
It is typically used when you create dynamic links for use in marketing or tracking effectiveness in conversions etc.
We recommend leaving the 'skip the app preview' box unchecked as it makes your dynamic links usable when someone clicks on them in social media apps (which have an in-app browser so that users don't exit their app easily)

Congratulations!
You have successfully created the dynamic link 🥳 .
Now you can use it anywhere e.g. notes, sharing with friends etc. When clicked on it, your native app with launch with the provided Deeplink url (as explained in the step 4).
Did you know 🔥 :
You can create dynamic links on-the-fly from bubble workflows as well. Check out the 'BN - Create Dynamic Link' workflow on the Native apps (bdk) plugin
While this guide was for the version-test site, you can generate as many dynamic links you want and for tons of other purposes including growth hacking, marketing, password reset emails, magic links etc. Check out this article we wrote to unleash the full power of dynamic links
The deeplink url can be any link, not just your bubble site. Try creating a dynamic link with https://airbnb.com as the deeplink url 😆
