Install the IQAudio DAC HAT:

  • Prepare your Raspberry Pi by making sure it is powered off and disconnected from any power source.

  • Attach the IQAudio DAC HAT to the GPIO header following the manufacturer's instructions.

  • Power on the Raspberry Pi by connecting the power supply.

Don't forget the little bolts that come with the DAC hat.

Find Volumio's Wi-Fi access point:

  • Wait for a few minutes for Volumio to start up its Wi-Fi hotspot, creating a temporary network.

  • Look for a Wi-Fi network named something like "Volumio" or "Volumio-xxxx" (where "xxxx" represents a unique identifier).

When Volumio starts up it creates its own wifi point for you to first connect to it. You can either do this on your phone or laptop/pc. Just keep checking your wifi settings until you see Volumio-43DC (example) connect to it and follow the setup instructions.

In a nutshell, it wants you to connect it to the wifi so have your wifi password handy.

Access the Volumio web interface:

  • Open a web browser and enter "volumio.local" or "http://192.168.211.1" in the address bar.

  • This will take you to the Volumio web interface.

Find Volumio IP address:

In the Volumio web interface, navigate to the "Network" section (3 lines top left) there you will find Volumio's current IP address. Write it down as you will need this later.

7

Connect your DAC to Volumio

In Volumio click on the 3 lines top left and navigate to 'Playback Options' Then turn 12S DAC on, and in the dropdown menu look for IQaudio DAC plus, select it and hit save.

Add a Music Source

0 Steps

You cant play music without a source, this could be a USB stick, Network drive, Tidal or QOBUZ. For now, I would suggest streaming QOBUZ or Tidal to test that everything is working and you have a working DAC. Although if you have a USB drive or external hard drive plug it in, Volumio should find it automatically.

Connect your Volumio DAC to your setup

0 Steps

I dont need to explain how to do this, although if nothing is coming out of your speakers then you probably haven't selected the correct dac in 'Playback options'

FYI this should all be very easy 'plug and play' if its not working then don't start pulling your amp apart, check the cables, check the Pi is on. Check Volumio is playing.

Well done!
