Placing a Hold

As part of the library's ITEM RETRIEVAL SERVICE, schedule ahead pickup requires placing a hold on item(s) in advance. Below are the steps to place a hold in the library's online catalog.

Log into your library account

Please contact the library (library@dwci.edu) if you do not know your username or password.

Search for an item using the search box

When you find the item you are looking for, Click on "Place hold"

If your hold is time sensitive, enter the date after which the item is no longer needed.

If you have additional directions, please enter them in the "Hold Notes" box

Click on Confirm hold

To ensure patron privacy, holds placed on the "Holds Shelf" will not be identified by name. If you would like your hold to be held in the library office rather than the "Holds Shelf," please indicate that in the Hold Notes section.

You will receive an email when your hold is ready to pickup.

Holds are placed on the Holds Shelf, which is next to the computer area.

To ensure patron privacy, holds will not be identified by name. If you would like your hold to be held in the library office rather than the Hold Shelf, please indicate that in the Hold Notes section.

Please only remove the items that you placed on hold from the Holds Shelf.
