Locating Journals and Journal Articles (in Primo)

On June 21, we will be migrating our library catalog to a new platform, Primo. Here is the workflow for Journals by Title or Journal Articles by Title in Primo

Go to Primo or start from the search box on the Rains Law Library homepage.

You can start your search from the Primo homepage or from the search box on the Rains Law Library homepage.

To locate a journal or law review by title, type the name of the journal or law review into the search box. Then click Search.

If you are starting from the Primo homepage, as you type, you will see a drop-down box indicating the possible locations that you can search.
If you are starting from the library homepage, the search will default to the LLS catalog. You can change your location scope after your initial search.

Primo will indicate if the journal is available in multiple locations.

Click on "See all versions" to learn more.

Select a record to learn more...

Click into individual records to learn more, such as the coverage dates for the journal/law review. You may need to look at more than one record to find what you're looking for.

Tip: for law review articles, HeinOnline (Hein & Co.) is a great place to start.

To search for a journal or law review article by the article's title...

Type the title into the search bar

And select "Everything" as your search scope

You can do this by selecting it from the drop-down...

Or by changing the scope filter next to the search box

Again, note that you may be able to access the article in more than one location.
