Created Jun 08, 2023How to safely remove the circuit board from inside the FM4:
1. Remove the casing
Unscrew the two holding screws from the back of the FM4 to remove the outer casing. Take care to keep the outer casing in a safe place to avoid any accidental scratches.
2. Cut cables or de-solder
Carefully cut or de-solder the button and LED ribbon cable from the main circuit board. Ensure that you remove them as close to the board as possible to maximize the cable length. Additionally, cut the brown and blue cables for the power section, as you won't be able to use the IEC cable after they have been cut.

3. Rotary Switch
Remove the rotary encoder and unscrew the grub screw using a tiny Allen key. This will allow you to detach the knob from the encoder. Keep the rotary switch as I will be upgrading the instructions to use that as well.
4. Keep your bits
It's important to keep all of the nuts and bolts, especially the little bracket that keeps the screen in place. These components will come in handy during the conversion process.
