How to Apply Charges to an Entry's Account

This example will show how to apply charges to a resident's (entry) account in StarRez. This would be the same process to apply key charges, damage charges, conduct charges, or event charges.

Once you've identified the Entry and navigated to their profile, select Account

Select New Charge

Select New Charge

Select the Term Session in which the action (ex: key lost, damage, or conduct) that led to charges took place. Most often this will be the current Term/Semester.

Click on Select to confirm Term Session

Select the Reference Booking related to the charge to be applied (ex: key lost, damage, or conduct). Most often this will be the current Booking which can be identified by the current room space (number) or date range of Booking.

Do not select a Due Date

Select Charge Item

Select Charge Item

Click within the Charge Item window and begin typing for applicable Charge Item options to be displayed. Hint - typing a related word will trigger a predictive search.

Ex: typing Damage will result in all Damage accounts to be displayed

Select the proper Charge Item account. Next enter the Amount total.

Add any related comments provided by the staff member that is authorizing the Charge to be applied.

To apply the Charge, select OK when finished.
