NAVIGATE TO FLEXIBLE WORK ARRGMT TILE

Access NC State, MyPack Portal

After successfully logging into MyPack Portal navigate to Employee Self Service

Click on Employee Self Service

On the Employee Self Service page locate the Flexible Work Arrgmt (Emp) tile.

Click on Flexible Work Arrgmt (Emp) tile

Click on the Flexible Work Arrgmt (Emp) tile to add a flexible work request.

INITIATE THE FLEXIBLE WORK ARRANGEMENT REQUEST

Click the Add Request button to initiate teh request

To begin the process click "Add Request".

Select the Start Date of the Flexible Work Request

Click on the calendar icon and identify the start date when flexible work will begin.

Select the Start Date of the Flexible Work Request

Click "Next" to advance

Confirm that the mandatory dropdown for the type of Flexible work arrangement is pre-filled with the "Flexible" option.

REVIEW GUIDELINES/REGULATION

Complete the Flexible Work Request Form - the Guidelines section provides a link to NC State's Flexible Work Arrangements regulation REG 05.55.10.

The Guidelines page also identifies the employee classifications that are eligible for a flexible work arrangement.

PROVIDE EMPLOYEE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Acknowledgement - Employees must review and select the I Agree checkbox before proceeding to the next step

Employees must not advance to the next step if they have not reviewed the arrangement with their supervisor.

PROVIDE DETAILS OF THE FLEXIBLE WORK ARRANGEMENT

Request Details - Provide details of the flexible work arrangement by completing the required fields:

  1. Work Arrangement Type: Pre-filled as "Flexible"

  2. Work Arrangement Reason: Select an option that applies:

    1. If the work arrangement involves multiple options, select the option that best describes the arrangement:

      1. Alternate Work Location

      2. Flexible Hours, Flexible Work Week, Alternate Work Location

      3. Flexible Work Hours

      4. Flexible Work Hours, Flexible Work Week

      5. Flexible Work Hours, Alternate Work Location

      6. Flexible Work Week

      7. Flexible Work Week, Alternate Work Location

  3. Flexible Location - select the option that identifies the work location.

    1. Alternate NC State Location - Select an option and provide details as requested.

    2. Alternate Work Location - if selected, will reflect the employees home address

    3. Other - Provide the address of the location you plan to work

Request Details - Provide details of the flexible work arrangement by completing the required fields:

In this example "Other" has been selected as the Flexible Location

Click on "Add Address" button to identify the exact location you plan to work from when you are not in your designated NC State campus location.

Days Offsite

Indicate the "Days Offsite" you plan to work. The following options will appear on the drop down list.

  1. Average Days Per Month

  2. Average Days Per Week

  3. Specific Days Per Week - if you select this option an additional screen will open allowing you to identify the specific days of the week you plan to work office site.

In this example "Average Days Per Week" was selected, indicating that 3 days will be at a flexible location, (listed above).

Add Attachments or Notes

This page requires you to either "Add Attachment and/or Add Note" reflecting the details of your flexible work arrangement between you and your supervisor. Check with your supervisor to verify which option you should select in case your unit already has guidelines and procedures in place. Keep in mind that your supervisor will be reviewing this request for approval.

In this example "Add Note" is selected and a page will open allowing you to enter text explaining the offsite details. When you are finished click "Done" in the upper right corner.

Click on Next to advance.

The Attachment or Note will be displayed on the page. Click the highlighted arrow to open and review what you provided.

Click on Submit to advance.

The Review and Submit page allow you to review what you are planning to submit for approval. If you notice any item that needs to be adjusted you will have to click the "Previous" button to navigate back to the page that needs to be modified.

Click on Submit to advance.

Click on Yes to confirm your submission.

Following the confirmation you will see the supervisor the request will be routed to for review and approval. If you have questions about the status of a request you should first contact your direct supervisor for assistance.

Click on Yes to confirm your submission.
