LOGIN TO MYPACK PORTAL

3 Steps
  • Navigate to MyPack Portal (http://mypack.ncsu.edu) using a web browser.

  • Select the NC State Students/Faculty/Staff Campus affiliation.

  •  Enter your Unity ID and Password when prompted to login to MyPack portal

Navigate to the Employee Self Service Homepage

  • Upon successful login to MyPack Portal, if you do not land on the Employee Self Services homepage, select the Employee Self Service option from the dropdown menu in the top left corner of the banner

Navigate to and click on the WolfTime tile

This will open the WolfTime module within Employee Self Service

Navigate to and click on the Manage Absences tile

The Manage Absences section will provide options to view and submit absence requests.

REVIEW ABSENCE BALANCES AND HOLIDAY CALENDAR

Review your Annual Leave balances from the "Balances" section on the right of the page.

In the example below, the employee has 182.79 Hours of Annual/Vacation Leave available.

This page also displays the Holiday schedule for the next few months.

You can also view the last 3 absences before submitting a new request.

Create a New Request - Nonexempt

Navigate to the section labeled "Create a New Request" to create a new annual absence request.

Use the calendar widget and select the "Start Date" of the request

In the example, an FLSA-Nonexempt employee submits an Annual absence for a 6 hour partial day.

Example: Start Date selected = Select June 18, 2024

Select End Date of the request

  • Start and End dates should be the same if the leave request only spans a single day.

  • Clicking the "+1 Day" button will update the end date by a calendar day.

    REMEMBER:

    • Absences must be submitted one week at a time (Saturday to Friday), not to exceed your standard work week. 

    • To request absences spanning over a week, submit multiple requests, one for each week.

    • Unless leave was used for a weekend day, leave requests should never be submitted for weekends.

Select Annual Leave or Comp as the Absence Name

The Absence Name dropdown will display a list of leave options the employee is eligible for. Select Annual Leave or Comp.

Clicking Apply Absence will open up more of the absence request page to submit the details of the absence request.

Click on Partial Days Option

To submit a Partial Day of Leave, click on the Partial Days Option.

Select Start Day Only from Partial Days

A Partial Days pop-up will allow you to submit the request as a Partial Day. To submit a single day of partial leave, select Start Day Only from the drop down menu.

Enter Partial Day Hours

When submitting a partial day of leave, submit the number of hours for the leave request as the Duration of the request.

Add Comments

Provide comments for your supervisor in the Comments text box.

Eligibility

  • Once the forecasting calculation is complete, a system message displays eligibility. Click OK to confirm eligibility.

    • If you have enough leave balance to cover this absence request, the forecast results are “ELIGIBLE.”

    • If you do not have enough leave balance to cover this absence request, the forecast results are “INELIGIBLE” 

    • It will also state whether or not comp time will be used to cover all or a portion of the request.

Note: Available Comp hours are always used before Annual hours

Click on Submit

Click the Submit button to submit the absence request for supervisor approval

The Save for Later button will save the request for the employee to view and submit later.

It will NOT submit the request for approval.

If the Saved request is not submitted or deleted, it will impact future balance forecasts.

Select Yes in the pop-up confirmation box to submit the leave request or No to go back to the unsubmitted request.

When selecting multiple days, you will receive a pop-up notification explaining the impact of submitting a leave request over multiple days. Review the information and click on OK to proceed.

Click on the Absence NAme dropdown to select the type of absence request

REVIEW ABSENCE

Once the leave request is submitted, users will be navigated to the Manage Absences page.

The newly submitted absence request will be displayed in the list of recently submitted absences at the top of the Manage Absences page.

To view the leave request, users can click on the View Absence option from the options menu (3 vertical dots)

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Once submitted, the absence request will be sent to your Supervisor for approval.

  • Absence balances will be updated on the day AFTER the absence request has been Approved.

  • Future-dated absences: Absence balances will be updated at the start of the month of the absence.
