Create an IRS ID.Me Account with external account

Creating an IRS account verified by ID.Me will give you access to your IRS information. There you can:

  • See Tax Balances

  • Make Payments

  • View Transcripts

  • View Notices and Letters

If you are married you will need to do this for each partner.

We prefer securing your account by receiving a code via text message or phone call.

Ensure there are no shadows covering your ID and the photo is not blurry

Take a live photo of yourself

The IRS will verify your identity card and face are the same with a live photo. Follow instructions on your screen. There may also be a live agent option to verify your identity.

Steps To Get Transcripts

Once you are logged in you will do the following:

  1. Click on Top Header that says, “Record and Status”

  2. 'Tax Records'

  3. 'View Your Transcripts'

  4. Select Reason for transcript (Can be any reason)

  5. There are four boxes: Return Transcript, Record of Account Transcript, Account Transcript, and Wages & Income Transcript

  6. Download the transcripts requested and upload to Dropbox or email us.

Select a reason you need a transcript: Choose any option

Custom File Number: Ignore

There are 4 types of transcripts shown below. Most often we will ask for the Wage & Income Transcript.

For each transcript click the year needed and download the file. Then upload the file to Dropbox and email us, info@linkacpa.com once you have done so.
