IRS ID.Me Account

Creating an IRS account verified by ID.Me will give you access to your IRS information. There you can:

  • See Tax Balances

  • Make Payments

  • View Transcripts

  • View Notices and Letters

If you are married you will need to do this for each partner.

Choose your external account to sign in

Signing in using your Facebook, Google, or etc. account will save you 10-20 minutes rather than creating a new account.

We prefer securing your account by receiving a code via text message or phone call.

Ensure there are no shadows covering your ID and the photo is not blurry

The IRS will verify your identity card and face are the same with a live photo. Follow instructions on your screen. There may also be a live agent option to verify your identity.

Warning:

  • It does not have state withholding

  • You need to reach out to the business for the original documents.

  • If you are married: Your spouse must sign into their own account to view information returns issued in their name

There are 4 types of transcripts shown below. Most often we will ask for the Wage & Income Transcript.

For each transcript click the year needed and download the file. Then upload the file to Dropbox and email us, info@linkacpa.com once you have done so.
