Create a Simulation Boundary in Google Earth

Open Google Earth

It is recommended to do this in Google Chrome.

Click on the "Add path or polygon" button to the upper left of the map screen.

Draw your area of interest boundary

Click on the map to place vertices, and click on your starting vertex again to close the shape.

Please note that your simulation area cannot be constructed from separate lines, so you must place at least three vertices and then close the shape.

When prompted, click "Save to project"

Then click "Local KML file"

Then you can optionally name your polygon:

Now your project will show up in the left panel under "Local KML files". You can click on the three dots on your project, then "Export as KML file" to download it.

You can draw multiple shapes to represent your area of interest. If you wish to do this then after naming your first shape repeat steps 2-5. When you click "Save to project", the new polygon with be added to your project in the left panel.
