Create Gifted Ad Hoc Filter

Use the steps below to create an Ad Hoc Filter for students with an active gifted program.

Log in to NCSIS via NCEdCloud.

Select Query Wizard as the filter type.

Add a Query Name. Example: "Gifted Students"

Chose the categories to include in the filter. Begin with Demographics by clicking the + to expand the field list.

In Demographics, select the following fields:studentNumberlastNamefirstNameschoolIDSelecting a field will add the fields to the selected fields column. Add any other demographics fields as desired.

Add any other fields by clicking on the field name to add to the Selected Fields box.

Filter the data by changing the gifted.startDate field operator to < =Change the gifted.endDate field operator to IS NULL.

This filter will include all students with a gifted program that is less than or greater than the current date and does not have a program end date.

Enter column header names to be different than the field name. Choose the formatting of each column as needed.

Group the data as needed. Include an aggregate/subtotal by student.studentNumber and aggregate by record count.

Click on Save to save the ad hoc filter. Click Save & Test to see a sample of the filter.

Change the User Account Folder or save to user groups for others to have access to the Ad Hoc Filter.

Use the filter in a student search by navigating to the Search icon, click on Advanced, then Select Filter. Locate the Gifted Students filter in the saved filter list and select. Click Search to see the student search results.

The students that meet the ad hoc filter criteria will be listed in the search results.

View program information for each student by clicking on the student and navigating to Student Information > Program Participation > Gifted.
