ANR Design Holster Guide

Which type of holster do I need?

ANR offers 3 different holster platforms. IWB or Inside the Waistband which is ideal for concealed carry, OWB which is our Outside the Waistband holster that mounts directly to the belt. Lastly, the Tactical OWB holster which is ideal for a variety of applications such as training, duty and competition. This guide will provide in depth explanations of each platform.

At ANR Design you will find Quick Ship holster builders and standard holster builders. Our Quick Ship holsters are designed in house by our engineers and produced in our automations department using precision cutting fixtures and advanced vacuum forming. The standard builder holsters are made in our traditional manufacturing cells, which can include pneumatic pressing and grinding. Aesthetically the holsters will be identical in many ways. If you order a holster in the standard builder and we can manufacture it in the Automations department it will be sorted there automatically.

IWB with DCC Monoblock

The Discreet Carry Concepts Monoblock belt clip works with any existing ANR Holster. The DCC Monoblock is ideal for thinner gun belts, but works great with thicker gun belts like the Blue Alpha Gear EDC Cobra Hybrid belt. The Monoblock is a metal clip vs our standard clip which is polymer. The DCC does an excellent job of biting into the belt providing less side to side shifting.

IWB with Standard Polymer Clip

The Standard clip is made out of polymer and was designed specifically for our holsters. This clip comes with an angled dual bushing to create firm fitment over the belt.

IWB Appendix Holster

Our appendix holster works exactly like our normal IWB but also includes a claw device. The claw tucks behind the seam of your pants and helps keep the grip of the firearm tucked towards the body to reduce printing. We at ANR prefer this carry method but understand it is not for everyone. One of the primary advantages of appendix carry, and appendix carry holsters, is the level of comfort it provides. When carrying a handgun in the appendix position, the weight of the firearm is evenly distributed along the front of the body. This distribution of weight prevents the development of hotspots or pressure points that can occur with other carry methods. Any holster with a claw can have it substituted with standard hardware.

ANR IWB Holster Utilizing a Concealment Claw, this holster is designed with the highest level of concealment in mind. Here is where you will find all of our IWB offers. Some models are specific to our quick ship builders as well, here is where you can find them.

OWB Holster with Speed Clips

It’s coined the “Speed-Clip” for a reason. Don’t let the quick on/off design fool you, these suckers stay put when it’s go-time. It’s built of tough yet slightly pliable nylon that makes it easy to put on and resolute when it’s in place. These speed clips are great for versatility. The belt can remain on and the holster can be taken on and off with ease.

Tactical OWB with QLS

3 Steps

The Tactical Outside the Waistband QLS system offers efficiency and convenience to a variety of users. Duty officers who may need to change holsters for training or a different duty assignment can make a speedy switch—or move the holster to a different belt altogether. For the daily carry user, the QLS system helps save time when transferring the holster and gun from the body to another mounting point. The QLS is also very popular among Competition users – especially for 2 gun and 3 gun competitions. Students can also use the QLS to quickly change their rig set up between classes. And tactical operators can easily transfer a holster from a thigh rig to a vest with this setup.
