This section demonstrates how we might prompt ChatGPT to help us generate an initial short training video on customer service basics to be used in new employee orientation. The purpose is to give the new employee some fundamental guidance for their first interactions with customers.Use the tools below for step-by-step guidance or use the Walk Me button in Tango to have the system provide guidance while you try it out.

Log in to ChatGPT (or your preferred text platform, such as Claude, Perplexity, Bing, Bard, etc.)

Be as specific and detailed as possible. The more detail you provide, the more likely the output will be closer to what you are seeking and will require less editing to be able to be used.Don't be afraid to try different things! That is part of learning. If the prompt doesn't work for you, just refine it and try again! If you'd like to see a sample prompt, move to the next step.

Hot Tip: Keep a document of prompts that have worked well for you, usually in a spreadsheet, so you can share effective prompts with coworkers or re-use them with minor adjustments to improve your productivity.

Here is an example prompt:As an instructional designer, develop a script, storyboard, and example of a single page point of work reference on the topic of customer service behaviors. The audience is a new employee with no prior customer service experience. The output should include three behaviors a new employee can demonstrate on their first day at work, and include examples. Output should be formatted to paste into WellSaid Labs for text to voice generation, and include a prompt to generate a short presentation in Canva that matches the storyboard and script, and a prompt to generate a short 2 minute video in Vyond.

The systems can handle a lot of detail.  Consider including expert position, verb, detail on desired output, target audience, purpose, desired format for output and so on.

When reviewing the output, it is clear that the prompt did not include the type of business, so the examples are generic. Here is the prompt we used to refine the outputs to be relevant for new restaurant employees: "Modify the above outputs to be relevant to employees in a restaurant setting."

Review the output, and use the system to refine the information if needed.

Hot tip: Platforms are getting better at internal AI processes, so developing outputs to insert into other platforms is becoming less important. For Canva and Vyond, for example, there are tools within each platform that can be used without the need for an external platform like ChatGPT!

Review the outputs, and continue to refine until it meets the needs.

Once the outputs are refined, go ahead and test them out!

Select "Create Presentation"

Click on Canva Assistant

Click on Magic Design™…

Enter some info.  Be mindful of the charater limitations for the prompt box. 
"Develop a presentation  on three customer service behaviors a new restaurant employee can use Day 1"

Select different templates to preview them

Choose the one that best meets your needs.

Once the template is selected, click on "Create my presentation"

Feel free to modify text and images once the initial presentation has been created to customize the content to meet your needs.

Bonus:  Recording narration and presenting in Canva

Once your presentation is created, you can add audio and presentation elements to create a view-on-demand presentation.
Start by selecting the "Present" button in the upper right corner.

Then select present and record to add audio, and go ahead a select the "recording studio" to try it out!

If you'd like to add pre-recorded audio or use presentation avatars instead of recording live, use apps to help!

Click on Discover and explore the possibilities.

If you use a D-ID account, you can select from stock avatars or make your own to add in a presenter.

Click on  Upload your own audio to upload audio files (such as those from a text-to-voice platform) to narrate the presentation.

If you want to modify the text, paste it first into an editable document and make any adjustments, then copy the final text for narration to your clipboard.

Log in to WellSaid Labs, then Click "start a new project" or open an existing project.

Select voice avatar

Paste text and select the "create" button.

Hot Tip: You can render the whole segment, or render by paragraph.Render by Paragraph if you need separate audio files for different slides.It is much easier to generate a single audio file for each segment, instead of editing a larger audio file later!Make sure to label each download clearly, so you can identify the correct segment when adding them to videos or presentations!
