Prevent end users from seeing variable names (Form Builder) | FB_021

When using variables within the Form Builder, you may notice that the variable names themselves are sometimes visible on the canvas. This is primarily for administrators, however it can happen that end users loading up a MegaEdit product can very briefly see the variable names.

If this is the case, and you don't want it, there's a simple change we can make to our product settings that will ensure the variable names on the canvas are never visible to the end user.

Visible variable names

When working on a product template as an administrator, you will often see the variable name, however this should not translate to when an end user is viewing the product.

What you may see (when viewing as an end user) is a brief moment where variable names are visible on the canvas, before automatically being removed from the UI.

To remove this and ensure the product loads with no variables visible, begin by navigating to the product's MegaEdit settings

Input a Custom Load Step into the MegaEdit product

This will add an additional step to the loading screen, ensuring that the product is not displayed until the loading is fully completed.

Click on Save and Continue Edit

Launch the MegaEdit product

You will now see a total of 9 steps to be loaded instead of the usual 8 in standard MegaEdit products.

The product will launch with no variables visible to the end user

Remember! As the administrator you will still see the variable names on the canvas in many cases.
