Follow these instructions so that Jeeng can supply you with ad tags for your emails.

Setting up ad inventory in GAM for Jeeng to create email ad tags

Go to Google Ad Manager - Home

Click on Inventory

Then Ad units

Click on the New ad unit button

Type "Test Newsletter Inventory" or any newsletter name

For the code, you cannot use special characters such as "spaces"

Following the example from earlier, use "underscores" instead of spaces.

Type "Test_Newsletter_Inventory"

Scroll down to sizes

Include all sizes that belong under that newsletter, even if there will be multiple placements.

Type "300x250" or whatever size you plan on testing

Example we are using here is a 300x250

Remove reward settings

Remove the AdSense for unsold inventory

Scroll to the bottom and click on SAVE

Go back to Ad units on the left menu option

In this example, you can search for "test newsletter"

Type for the original parent we created a moment ago

Click on + Add child ad unit once you find the original parent ad inventory

Type out the first placement's name

We are labeling ours "300x250 Top" in this case

Head to the "Code" section

Just like last time, you cannot use spaces, so we are using an underscore.

Type "300x250_top"

Go to Sizes, and type "300x250"

Scroll down to click on SAVE

Head back and find the parent ad unit so we can create the next child placement

Search for the parent on the right

Click on + Add child ad unit

Repeat the previous steps, only this time labeling this placement something different

We're calling this "300x250 Bottom"

Follow the same steps as before then click on SAVE

Click on All ad units one last time

Click on "View child ad units" so we can find the lowest child ad unit

Click on 300x250 Top

Select Tags

Click on dropdown, and select "Mobile Application Tag"

Select CONTINUE

What you see here is your instance ID, followed by the parent ad unit's code, followed by the child's code. We need this for each ad tag request, because it's how we tie our tags to your GAM instance correctly. Normally we will supply a Google spreadsheet to you to fill out where you can add this mobile application tag.

Click on Copy tag
