How to Request Accommodations in AIM

Every semester, students will use the AIM Student Portal to send Faculty Notification Letters (Accommodation Letters) to their professors if accommodations are needed.  The student will select which classes they need accommodations in, verify which accommodations they are requesting for each class, and then submit their accommodation requests through the system.

Complete Step 1 by selecting the course(s) you'd like to request accommodations in. If you have recently added a class, you may need to wait up to 48 hours for the class to display in the system.

Complete Step 2 (Final Step: Select Accommodation(s) for Each Class) by reviewing each class and selecting which specific accommodations you'd like to request for each course.

PLEASE NOTE - "Alternative Testing” includes all of your approved testing accommodations. Each testing accommodation will display individually on your letters when the email is sent to your instructors. To review your approved accommodations under Alternative Testing, please visit the My Eligibility tab on your profile.

After you've selected accommodations for your course(s), scroll to the bottom of the page after reviewing each class and click “Submit Your Accommodation Requests“.

Once the Accommodation Request is submitted, your request(s) will be put in a queue for review by Student Accessibility Services staff.

Finally, once the request is approved, Faculty Notification Letter emails will be sent out through AIM directly to the instructor(s) of record for the course. The email will be addressed from SAS staff at the student's primary campus location.
